La segunda edición del Festival Grandes Compositores homenajea al compositor francés G. Bizet en el 150 aniversario de su muerte y del estreno de la ópera «Carmen».

El Festival Grandes Compositores, que pretende acercar al público la música clásica a través de las obras de grandes maestros, se celebrará durante la semana del 14 al 22 de marzo con conciertos en Alicante, Elche y Orihuela. Está organizado por el Foro 58 y la UNED de Elche, y dirigido por el compositor ilicitano Manuel Ramos.

Los conciertos programados- esta vez en teatros, no en iglesias- ofrecerán una selección de los momentos más conocidos de esta obra. Estarán interpretados por cerca de 150 músicos y voces pertenecientes a la Orquesta y Coro de la UNED de Elche, la Orquesta Barroca Valenciana, la Coral de la Universidad de Alicante, dirigida por Shlomo Rodríguez, y la Coral Crevea.

También participarán cuatro solistas: la mezzosoprano cubana Merlyn Cruz en el papel de Carmen, la soprano Carmen Muñoz (Micaela), el tenor David Baños (Don José) y el barítono ucraniano Dmytro Rusinyak (Escamillo), además de la bailarina de ballet español Keisy Lindsey.

• Concierto ÓPERA CARMEN – selección. Gran Teatro, Elche. 20:30 h.

Lunes 17 de marzo

• Conferencia: «Fuentes históricas y artísticas de Bizet y la ópera Carmen». Ponente: Alejandro Cañestro, titulado en Historia del Arte. Biblioteca Fernando de Loaces, Orihuela. 19:30 h.

Martes 18 de marzo

• Concierto ÓPERA CARMEN – selección. Teatro Principal, Alicante. 20:30 h.

Jueves 20 de marzo

• Conferencia: «Bizet, el incomprendido pájaro rebelde». Ponente: Clara Mª Portal, titulada en Pedagogía Musical por el Kodaly Institute (Budapest) y Profesora de Música en la Universidad Abierta de Mayores UNED. Aula Magna UNED, Elche. 18:00 h.

Sábado 22 de marzo

• Concierto ÓPERA CARMEN – selección. Teatro Circo, Orihuela. 20:30 h.

Entrada gratuita. Para asistir a los conciertos, es necesaria una invitación, que se recoge en la taquilla del correspondiente teatro.

El festival contará con tres conciertos “que tendrán lugar en la Iglesia Santo Domingo, con entrada gratuita”, ha explicado la concejal. El primer concierto tendrá lugar el domingo 16 de marzo a las 19:00 horas y estará a cargo de Sense Mesura Ensemble, una agrupación especializada en música antigua y en interpretación historicista. El grupo, fundado en 2019, está compuesto por músicos y cantantes de diversas localidades de Alicante y ha participado en festivales como Al So de les Ermites en Mutxamel y A la Llum de T’Aljub en el Castillo de Santa Bárbara de Alicante. Su repertorio abarca obras desde el Renacimiento temprano hasta el Clasicismo.

El domingo 23 de marzo a las 19:00 horas, el Dúo Uryula interpretará el Requiem de Mozart en versión para piano a cuatro manos, basada en la transcripción de Carl Czerny. Este dúo, formado por los profesores del Conservatorio de Orihuela Sonia Pérez Llorca y Juan José Teruel, ha actuado en diversas salas de la provincia de Alicante y Murcia, destacando su participación en la clausura del centenario del compositor Manuel Berná García y en un concierto junto a la Orquesta Sinfónica de Orihuela en el Teatro Circo.

El festival se cerrará el miércoles 9 de abril a las 20:00 horas con un concierto a cargo de la sección de cámara de la Orquesta Sinfónica de Orihuela y solistas invitados. El programa incluirá piezas de grandes compositores del Barroco como Johann Sebastian Bach, Georg Friedrich Haendel y Antonio Vivaldi.
